1951–1966 — Humble Beginnings

R.E.B. Welding Ltd was founded in 1951 and established in 1966 by Roy Edward Beardwell at Globe Works, Grays.
Armed with a passion for metalwork and a commitment to quality, Roy set out to provide local industries with reliable welding and fabrication services.

1970s–1980s — Building a Reputation

During these formative decades, R.E.B. became known across Essex and East London for:

• Reliable structural steelwork

• Expert sheet-metal services

• Honest, no-fuss customer service
  As the company grew, it became a trusted partner in construction, infrastructure, and industrial repairs.

1990s — Family-Run Strength

R.E.B. remained a tight-knit, family-run business, with Janice Beardwell stepping in to support management.
The workshop focused on combining traditional techniques with modern demands, reinforcing a culture of skilled craftsmanship and care.

2000s — Bespoke & Mobile Solutions

With changing industry needs, R.E.B. expanded into:

• Mobile on-site welding

• Custom fabrication for homes and businesses

• One-off bespoke metalwork
  The company’s flexibility made it a go-to for both small builders and major contractors.

2010s — Strengthening Our Core

As the original founders remained active, Sharon Hartley joined to help guide operations into the future.
The company leaned into its strengths:

• Longstanding relationships with repeat customers

2020s — Quality in a Fast World

Now almost 60 years strong, R.E.B. Welding continues to serve Grays and beyond from the same Globe Works location.
